Being a landlord is not for the faint-hearted. It’s a tricky business: people are emotional about their homes, whether they are the owner entrusting their home to a renter, or the lessee deciding on a place to live for any amount of time. After managing a duplex rental property on our own, we turned to Avenue One 7-8 years ago to give us much needed help. Right away, Julie and Tracy added value, handling all of the tenant change-over maintenance and raising the rent to reflect the current market, handing the marketing and then showing and screening potential tenants. They were clearly the experts, and handled everything very efficiently. My fiancé has a condo in the Eastlake neighborhood, that we needed to rent out. We were a bit apprehensive about being landlords since neither of us has done this before.
